HeartStrings

Rating: 6
Lead Actors: Park Shin Hye, Jung Yong-Hwa
No of eps:16
Handsome Jung Young Hwa

This is a drama that takes place in a Music school where Park Shin
Hye and Young Hwa are enrolled. Park Sgin Hye is a sweet and talented girl who studies traditional music becuase of her grandfather. Young hwa is an arrogant on the outside and sweet on the inside character who is the lead singer and guitarist for a band called "The Stupids". Shin Hye and Young Hwa end up making a bet on their musical talents and the loser has to be the slave of the winner for a month. The story spins around them getting to know each other, the sacrifices that they make ,the problems they face and how they over come them.

Cute Park Shin Hye
Park Shin Hye is cute and bubbly as ever but I'm guessing she isn't very good at dancing because they barely showed a few moves. There is a scene where she cries while singing which brings back some sweet old memories from "You're beautiful". To all the Park Shin Hye and Houng Hwa shippers this is a treat. Young Hwa is a Charming and hot guitarist who has most of the girls swooning over him (except our heroine of course :P ) . The charater of Kang Min-Hyuk is very innocent and adorable too ^-^

There are some twists in the story which stop you from discontinuing watching the drama. But the ending is unnecessarily complicated. There is also a typical love triangle ,Lol. This drama is quite simple and straight forward. It is even quite silly at places. But since the leads are cute you don't mind watching it. Through this drama I found out how interesting Korean traditional music is. I don't know if they altered it to suit the tastes of the youth but I quite like it.

Witch's romance

Rating: 6.5
Lead actors: Uhm Jung-Hwa, Park Seo-Joon, Han Jae-Suk
No of eps: 16

This drama is about a woman(Uhm Jung-Hwa) in her late 30's who is a complete workaholic. She is a journalist who is very strict, mean and efficient which has earned her the title of "witch". This witch comes across a spirited young man (Park Seo-Joon) who is almost 14 years younger than her.The young man falls under her charm and tries to work things out with her in spite of the age gap. The witch also has an ex-fiance (Han Jae-Suk) who ditched her on their wedding day with out a word. He then returns after 5 long years of silence to make up with her. The witch later gets involved in a love triangle with the young man and her ex-fiance.

Uhm Jung-Hwa and Park Seo-Joon's kiss
This drama is mainly comedy and romance. There are some steamy make out scenes between Uhm Jung-Hwa and Park Seo-Joon. Even though she is a lil old she is still cute and fun to watch.
Park Seo-Joon cannot maintain a straight face and looks like he's holding back a laugh.
Han Jae-Suk is just an extra character who is added to bring a lil twist to the drama, but he doesn't get a lot of screen time. Even when he does get screen time he doesn't make much of an impression. The 2nd lead syndrome didn't take effect for this drama.

This is a total chick flick and is only for time pass. The starting two episodes are fast and exciting but it becomes a bit of a drag in the end. It is very predictable and not captivating. I watched it because I'd nothing else to watch at that time. You could watch it if you like chick flicks.

Empress Ki

Rating: 9.5
Lead actors: Ha Ji-Won, Joo Jin-Mo, Ji Chang-Wook
No of eps: 51

This drama was an all rounder(Historic,Action,Drama,Romance). It got me very emotionally involved and excited. This period drama is a fictional account of the life of the real Empress Ki. It showcases the strengths, weaknesses of and oppression by Yuan dynasty. There are a lot of conspiracies, dilemmas and heart breaks. The 51 eps long drama succeeds in capturing the viewers completely.

Ji Chang-Wook as the Emperor of Yuan

Ha Ji-Won as Ki

Joo Jin-Mo as the King of Koreo

Ha Ji Won  is a brilliant actress who portrays the character with all the strength of a warrior and  grace of an empress perfectly. Joo Jin Mo is the Koreo king whose soulful looks suit the role of the wise king. But to me the eye candy is Ji Chang Wook. He renders the character so perfectly including its flaws and strengths. I cried and smiled with him , all the way cheering for him.

The drama also has an additional eye candy Jin Lee-Han who plays Tal Tal. His character is so mysterious and exciting making him obviously appealing to the girls. I wish there were more dramas with him as the lead.Lol

This drama is a must see. It will definitely not bore you. I gave it a rating of 9.5 because of the ending. It wasn't very viewer friendly but it had to be done to avoid political controversies. You will understand it when you watch it.

If you have already watched the drama then you'll definitely enjoy this video. It made me love the character of the emperor even more. Check it out.

Marry him if you dare!

Rating: 7
Lead actors: Yoon Eun-Hye, Lee Dong-Gun, Jung Yong-Hwa
No of episodes: 16

I watched this after i watched heartstings.

I'm not a big fan of Yoon Eun-Hye but i decide to watch it for Jung Yong-Hwa. The acting ,direction and main story line is all good. In this a lady comes from the future to ensure that she marries a better person and has a better life. But it isn't that easy to change fate, therefore she encounters a lot of challenges. The drama is mainly comedy and romance based. The other lead Lee Dong-Gun is very charismatic in his role as the announcer. Jung Yong-Hwa makes a very handsome chaebol. Yoon Eun-Hye thankfully goes from her messy curly hair look to a more elegant look in the later episodes.

I was disappointed with the ending. I understand why they did what they did but as a fan who watched 16 eps of the drama devotionally i was disappointed.
I would not discourage people from watching it, but if you have any other drama in mind i suggest you go for it instead of this.If you don't, then this isn't that bad..
